CCHS welcomes new principal

Thursday, September 20, 2012 by MICHAEL RODGERS Special to The Press in Local News

Mr. Dennis Nemes was welcomed this year as the new Central Catholic High School principal.

Mr. Nemes takes over after spending 30 years as the principal of Northwestern Lehigh High School. He comes to Central with a great amount of enthusiasm and excitement for this upcoming school year.

Freshmen and new students were also welcomed to CCHS during their orientation day. First-year students were assisted by upperclassmen, including members of student council, Viking Mentors and Viking Ambassadors. The students were given tours of the school, participated in student-led panel discussions and received a crash course on the "do's and don't's" of Central Catholic.

The CCHS boys soccer team is off to good start with wins over Dieruff and Northwestern. Led by seniors Alex Grap, Matthew Wagner, Skylar Strauss, Andy Werner, James Feichtel, Jonathan Matejcek, Tomas Espinoza and Michael Heiner, the team looks forward to continuing success in their upcoming games.

The freshman parents' open house will take place 6 p.m. Sept. 26. Parents will follow their child's A-day schedule and will have a chance to meet with teachers.

A similar open house for sophomore, junior and senior parents will take place 6 p.m. Oct. 2.
