Holy Trinity basket bingo set for Nov. 10

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1235 Main St., will host a basket bingo Saturday, Nov. 10. Doors open at 11:30 a.m., and the games begin at 1 p.m.

The cost of a ticket includes 20 games. Specials will be sold separately.

Refreshments will be available for purchase.

Proceeds benefit the church's building fund.

An event to benefit the Alec Ferullo family will be held Sunday, Nov. 11, 2-8 p.m., at the Gin Mill & Grille on Main Street.

Alec, a 2012 Northampton Area High School graduate, died Oct. 8 from brain cancer. Among his last wishes was that he not be forgotten. The event will remember him while benefiting his family.

Bands include Social Call, Endzone and School of Rock's Bank Street Band, along with deejay RMK Entertainment.

T-shirts, mugs and Alec's Army bracelets will be sold. A raffle and a basket social will be held. Discounted tickets can be purchased in advance at the Gin Mill.

St. John's Friendly Fifties will meet Monday, Nov. 12, 1 p.m., in the church's social hall, 1343 Newport Ave.

Cracked Walnuts will entertain.

The Northampton Area Public Library is seeking to fill one current vacancy and one upcoming vacancy. These positions are three-year terms. The following is a description of the responsibilities of a board member. In addition, a candidate should have a strong sense of advocacy for public library services.

1. Board members attend monthly meetings, the second Wednesday of the month, at 7 p.m. Meetings generally run two hours.

2. Board members serve as officers of the board for a term of one year.

3. Board members attend to board matters in between regular board meetings, such as review of documents and commenting via email; leading a subcommittee meeting; advocating for the library at public events; attending to matters of board activity with the senior library director or director of operations; and attending educational conferences of board interest.

4. Board members are active in strategic planning.

The Northampton Memorial Community Center, 16th Street and Laubach Avenue, hosts bingo every Monday night. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the games begin at 7 p.m.

The kitchen is open.

Proceeds benefit the Northampton Recreation Center.
