Thursday, November 22, 2012 by The Press in Local News

In recognition of National Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Month and National Family Caregivers Month, the Home Instead Senior Care office serving Lehigh County is offering a free Alzheimer's CARE training workshop for area families 6 p.m. Nov. 29 at the Home Instead Senior Care Office, 3722, Lehigh St., Suite 408, Whitehall.

"The Home Instead Alzheimer's CARE program will provide free counsel, support and instruction to area family caregivers," said Kim D'Amico, owner of the Home Instead Senior Care office in Whitehall. "We hope that by offering these workshops, more caregivers will be equipped with the proper knowledge and tools to face the everyday challenges of the disease."

During the workshop, program experts will teach caregivers how to manage behaviors, encourage engagement and care for themselves while caring for their loved one.

Courses are available in person and online. To reserve a spot, call 610-770-7773 or email julie.kish@ homeinstead.com.
