Help others keep warm

Merry Christmas!

The Gospel Chapel Missions Committee has partnered with Lehigh Valley Business Group, a nonprofit organization, for "Project Keep Warm." The goal for this project is to collect 500 new or gently used blankets by the end of 2012.

All blankets will be donated to various homeless shelters, family centers and animal shelters throughout the Lehigh Valley and Pocono areas.

Blankets can be dropped off Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., or before/after the 10:30 a.m. service on Sunday. The Gospel Chapel is located at 2022 Main St.

For more information, call the church at 610-262-8101.

The Simcoe Gallery will host an exhibit of two Northampton folk art carvers from the early- and mid-1900s. Both carvers had the same type of employment and the same love of "whittlin."

Stop by the gallery, 1925 Main St., on Saturdays from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. to see this unique display.

The Northampton Memorial Community Center, 16th Street and Laubach Avenue, hosts bingo every Monday night. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the games begin at 7 p.m.

The kitchen is open.

Proceeds benefit the Northampton Recreation Center.
