Junior WR Chris Litzenberger of the Muhlenberg football team was named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll.

To be named, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.40 or higher and be a starter or key reserve on his team.

An accounting major, Litzenberger appeared in every game, including two starts, and totaled 10 receptions for 91 yards and a TD. The TD came against Dickinson en route to a 61-21 victory on the road.

Litzenberger also served as the team's long snapper and was a key to the Mules leading the CC in net punting. He received the coaches award for "Big Play Offense" following a victory over Juniata and was also honored as a "Dig In," or unsung contributor, following a game against Johns Hopkins.

Muhlenberg finished its 2012 campaign with an 8-3 record overall, its best since 2008, and a 7-2 record in the CC, good for second place in the conference behind No. 15 Johns Hopkins. The Mules received a postseason berth to play in the ECAC South Atlantic Bowl, where they fell to Delaware Valley, 24-21.
