Young at Heart makes 2013 plans

St Andrews Young at Heart is a group of senior citizens who meet at St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Church, located at the corner of Third and Eugene streets.

The group's annual meeting will be held Jan. 23 at 1 p.m. in the basement social hall. Parking is on a lot in back of the church. Enter through the side door off the parking lot.

Young at Heart dues for 2013 can be paid at this January meeting. Also, plans are in the making for new and interesting things happening at this meeting. New members are always welcome.

The organization is sponsoring a casino trip to Mt. Airy Resort and Casino on Friday, Jan. 25. There is a cost. For information and to reserve a seat on the bus, call Bill Molchany at 610-264-0920.

The Suburban North YMCA has a number of upcoming special events.

· A bus trip to Mohegan Sun in Wilkes-Barre on Thursday, Feb. 7. The bus leaves from the Y at 9 a.m. and returns around 5 p.m. There is a cost, which includes slot comp and food voucher. Call the Y for information and to register at 610-264-5221.

· A Senior Valentine's Day Dance Thursday, Feb. 14, at 11:30 a.m. Bring your valentine and enjoy music, dancing and lunch. There is a cost.

· A Parent/Child Valentine's Day Dance Friday, Feb. 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. Enjoy a night of music, dancing, snacks and fun at the Y with your little valentine. This event is designed for ages 4 - 7. All youth must be accompanied by an adult. There is a cost.

· Family Movie Day, Sunday, Feb. 17, 2 p.m. Bring the family for an afternoon movie. There is a cost.

·Vendors are wanted for the Annual Spring Craft Fair, Saturday, March 23. Tables are available for a fee per 8-foot table. Also on the 23rd, the Y will host a "Scrambled Eggs at the Y" Easter Egg Hunt for children up to 6 years of age.
