Cub Pack 94 celebrates achievements at banquet
Blue and gold decorations filled the fellowship hall at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Catasauqua as Cub Scout Pack 94 hosted the annual Blue and Gold Achievement and Awards Banquet Feb. 16.
The annual banquet is a birthday dinner for the Cub Scouting program and is held to commemorate the anniversary month of the Boy Scouts of America organized in February 1910. The Cub Scouts were organized 20 years later.
The banquet is one of the highlights of the Scouting year. It is a family affair that brings together all of the Cub Scout dens that make up Pack 94.
Before the Scouts were acknowledged for their individual achievements, Cubmaster Shaun Dunn took a moment to thank not only the Pack 94 leadership team but parents as well.
The Pack 94 leadership team is chaired by Mark Weaver. Team members include Tiffany Mason, Tiger Den leader; Melissa Fischl, Shawn Regits and James Polles, Wolf Den leaders; Don Szerencits and Kerry Lewis, Bear Den leaders; Vicki Sweet and Jeremy Smale, Webelos Den leaders; and Tim Bartlett and Chris Held, Arrow of Light Den leaders
Duane Deitrich is the Pack trainer and treasurer and Jenn Polles serves as secretary.
Pack leadership and parents prepared a buffet style dinner for the evening.
Following the dinner, Tiger, Wolf, Bear and Webelos Den leaders presented earned advancements, activity pins and academic belt loops to each Cub Scout in attendance. All of the boys were congratulated on their achievements by their respective leaders and encouraged to continue their hard work.
Ryne the Magician provided the evening's entertainment. He is an Eagle Scout with Boy Scout Troop 25 in Easton and a member of Venture Crew 74. Ryne works as a camp counselor at Akela Land Cub Scout resident camp located at Camp Trexler in Jonas.
