Queenship of Mary Church member

Walter F. Meyers, 84, of Northampton, died April 20, 2013, in his home. He was the husband of the late Agnes (Schloffer) Klipple Meyers.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late John and Laura (Frisch) Meyers.

He was a 1946 graduate of Central Catholic High School and was a member of the 1945 state champion basketball team.

He was in the U.S. Army.

He retired in 1989 from the Lehigh Structural Steel in Allentown after 40 years of service.

He was a member of Queenship of Mary Church, Northampton.

He was a member of the Whitehall Subway Alumni Notre Dame Club and the Allgemeiner Club, where he was also a member of the bowling team.

He is survived by two sons, Roy and his wife Margie Klipple of Mt. View, Calif. and Ronald and his wife Rosemarie Klipple of Macungie; a daughter, Linda and her husband Ronald Kish of Northampton; a daughter-in-law, Gail G. Meyers of Lehigh Township; a son-in-law, Buster Keschel of Arizona; eight grandchildren, David Keschel, Roy Klipple, Joshua Kish, Jennifer Klipple Hevko, Andrew Klipple, Adrienne Meyers, Mattea Meyers Garrison and Jo Ann Kish; four great-grandchildren, Madison Meyers, Adriana Meyers, and Brayden and Landon Garrison; and a brother, Raymond Meyers of Allentown.

He was predeceased by a son, Walter "Butch" Meyers Jr.; two daughters, Jo Anne Meyers and June Keschel; and eight siblings.
