Connie Mack wins 6-straight

Catty Connie Mack clobbered Coplay as the Rough Riders exploded for eight runs in the bottom of the second for a 13-3 whipping of the Maroon and Grey.

It was part of a six-game winning streak after dropping their first two games of the season.

Against Coplay, Dakota Schiffer got the win with five strikeouts and no walks.

It was deuces wild for Alex Torres as he went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Jordan Madaya also was 2-for-2 while scoring two runs and driving in a run. Joe Harakal and Jacob Kober both recorded doubles.

Mikey Shutta, Joe Rothrock, Nate Pontician and Jacob Schneck all contributed hits.

Nick Wechsler doubled in a run for Coplay. Gino Sinatore had two hits. Bill Loy and Phil Ruggerio each had a hit.


Jake Kober hurled a three-hitter while going 2-for-3 with the stick, including a triple in Catty's 11-1 win over Pen Arygl.

Kober took two bases with his aggressive running and drove in two runs as the second batter while also scoring three times in the win last Tuesday in Catasauqua.

Leadoff hitter Mikey Shutta went 2-for-4 as Catty won six-straight games to improve to a 6-2 record in the Lehigh Valley Connie Mack League.

Catty has a Murderer's Row in their lineup. Jordan Madaya the Roughs third batter went 2-for-3. Joe Rothrock the cleanup man hit the ball hard all night but was robbed of hits. Fifth batter Alex Torres had a 3-for-4 night with four RBIs and two runs scored. Patrick Corrocher went 1-for-1 with an RBI in a pinch-hitter role. Matt Rodger and Dakota Schiffer added one hit each. Cristian Burker scored twice and grabbed a stolen base. Jacob Schneck scored a run.


Catty Connie Mack has a deep pitching staff and Jacob Kober proved that as he twirled a one-hitter at East Stroudsburg as Catty won 12-0.

The Roughies stroked 10 hits. Leadoff hitter Mikey Shutta went 3-for-4 with three runs scored, including two screaming doubles.

Alex Torres slashed a triple. Nate Pontician was 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Joe Harakal went 1-for-2 with an RBI.

Dakota Schiffer is like a second cleanup batter for coach Jim Kober in the eight-hole, and was a perfect 3-for-3 with the bat.

Traves Lebron was 1-for-3 with two RBIs and Cristian Burker drove in a run.

Catty was effective on the bases as Jordan Madaya, Alex Torres and Schiffer each dashed for two stolen bases.


At Catasauqua Jordan Madaya's four-hitter stymied the Fullerton Ramblers in a 11-3 win, giving Catty four straight.

First baseman Joe Rothrock drove two doubles in a perfect day at the plate while scoring three runs.

Mikey Shutta, Dakota Schiffer and Alex Torres all hit doubles. Schiffer and Torres both accounted for three RBIs each.

Jordan Madaya had a sacrifice fly RBI. Matt Rodger had a base knock.

Jacob Kober went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.


Catty Connie Mack erupted for six runs in the fourth inning to beat archrivals Northampton for a 10-5 Connie Mack victory.

The Konkrete Kids are always contenders for the LVCM crown.

Nathan Pontician spun a five-hitter against the Kids and helped himself going 2-for-3 with a ribbie.

Mikey Shutta, the first man in the Roughie lineup, went 3-for-3, hit a two-bagger and scored three times.

Jacob Kober clubbed a home run and triple while driving in five runs.

Jordan Madaya (2-for-3) knocked in a run with a double. Matt Rodger added a hit. Alex Torres sacrifice fly scored a run.


Call the Catty Connie Mack baseball team the Runnin' Roughs, because eight Catty players stole bases at North Parkland in a 9-5 win.

Joe Rothrock stole four bases and Jacob Kober and Alex Torres swiped two each. Cristian Burker, Mikey Shutta, Jordan Madaya, Nathan Pontician and Dakota Schiffer all stole one.

Kober hit a triple and scored twice. Rothrock went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and also scored twice.

North Parkland uncharacteristically booted the ball six times for errors. Dakota Schiffer pitched 5 2/3 frames for the win.

The Buffaloes Jay Strisovsky ripped a double while going 3-for-4 with three runs driven in.


Catty Connie Mack baseball team started out the Lehigh Valley Connie Mack Baseball League season falling to Lehigh Township 5-2 at the Bill Kennedy Complex in Catasauqua.

Traves Lebron went 1-for-2 for the Rough Riders. The Brown and White could only string together five hits. Mikey Shutta, Joe Rothrock, Nate Pontician and Dakota Schiffer got the other Catty hits.

Jacob Nunn struck out nine Roughies.

Nazareth scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to get past Catty 9-8 in game two of the season.

Jordan Madaya (1 hit) and Jake Kober (1 hit) combined for a four-hitter in defeat.

Seven Roughs rapped out hits. Cleanup hitter Joe Rothrock went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and Cristian Burker both banged out doubles. Dakota Schiffer had two hits and an RBI. Traves Lebron and Matt Rodger got hits as well.

Nate Miller got the win for the Blue Eagles.
