Charotin Hose Co.Fire Calls
North Catasauqua's Charotin Hose Company has reported responding to the following calls.
April 27, 3:23 p.m.
North Catasauqua Fire Department was dispatched with the Northampton Fire Department for a dwelling fire at 910 Dewey Ave. The caller had reported black smoke from the chimney at that location. Allen Township Fire Department and Northampton Regional EMS were also on the assignment.
A Northampton assistant fire chief arrived on location and reported no smoke in the area. North Catasauqua and Allen firefighters were held at their stations to stand by. Upon further investigation, no problems were found, and all companies were released.
May 2, 3:08 p.m.
Charotin firefighters assisted at a three-alarm fire at Silver Manor, 2 Front St., Catasauqua. Details of the fire, covered extensively in The Press, were not provided in the Charotin fire calls listing.
May 3, 10:04 a.m.
North Catasauqua personnel responded to an automatic fire alarm at Silver Manor, 2 Front St., Catasauqua. This was the location of a three-alarm fire the day before. Charotin was held at the station and directed to stand by. Silver Manor was vacant and boarded up, with no utilities on, after the earlier fire. Personnel found no cause for the alarm and cleared the scene.
May 14, 10:13 a.m.
North Catasauqua crew members responded with Northampton Regional EMS personnel for a report of an unconscious person in the 1100 block of Eighth Street. On arrival, EMS and police department personnel reported the person was no longer unconscious. Firefighters assisted with removing the patient from the residence.
May 23, 5:55 p.m.
Firefighters responded to the 600 block of Green Street for an EMS assist with lifting. No further details were provided.
