We Sing to help with cost of diabetic alert dog

The North Catasauqua WE SING Community Chorus will be hold its annual fall concert Sunday, Oct. 20, at 3 p.m. at the Roxy Theatre, 2004 Main St., Northampton.

This year's annual concert will benefit Matt Globosits and his diabetic alert dog, Zuker.

Matt is a 15 year-old boy from Whitehall who was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. He has experienced many high and low blood sugar counts. After one scary low blood sugar count, the family contacted Warren Retrievers for a Diabetic alert dog, trained to assist diabetics by recognizing scent and in alerting a household member if the diabetic does not respond.

Matt needs to raise $24,000 to supplement the cost of training his new dog.

For information, call 610-264-1225 or contact Cindy at to purchase advance tickets.

The St. Andrews Young at Heart, Third and Eugene streets, will be having a meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 23, in the church social hall. After the meeting a lunch will be served, and bingo will be called.

The next casino trip will be Oct. 25, leaving at 10 a.m. for the Mohegan Sun Casino. On Dec. 11, there will be a bus trip to Sight & Sound to see "Miracle of Christmas," with a family style dinner at Hershey Farms. Call Bill Molchany at 610-264-0920 to reserve a seat on the bus for either trip.
