Jack Frost parades through borough tonight

Northampton's annual Jack Frost Parade will be held 7 p.m. tonight, Oct. 24.

The rain date is Oct. 31.


Trick-or-treat night in the borough is 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31. Residents are urged to turn on their porch lights.


The Northampton Area Food Bank will hold its annual "Scare Away Hunger" walkathon this Saturday, Oct. 26. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at the food bank, 1601 Canal St., and the walk begins at 9 a.m.


Assumption BVM Church will hold a breakfast 8:30 a.m.-noon Sunday, Oct. 27, in the social hall on East 22nd Street.

There is a charge. Tickets will be sold at the door.

The menu includes French toast, pancakes, scrambled eggs or omelet, ham, sausage or bacon; hash browns; toast; and coffee, tea or juice.


Holy Trinity Slovak Lutheran Church, 1235 Main St., is holding a nut roll sale.

Choose from nut, apricot, lekvar, seedless raspberry and poppyseed.

Orders are due Nov. 3. Pickup is Nov. 23.
