American Club to hold egg hunt

The American Club of Coplay will hold its Easter egg hunt for children on its pavilion grounds this Saturday.

The Easter bunny will be present to greet and take photos with children. The fun begins at noon.

Food and refreshments will also be provided to those attending.


Coplay Tax Collector Jeffry Deutsch anticipates a rush by property owners to pay their 2015 garbage bills by the March 31 deadline.

If owners pay their bill by that deadline, they will receive a 10-percent discount.

Seniors, 65 or older, pay $207 through March 31; after that, the flat rate of $230 is due by May 29. If still unpaid, the amount due is $253.


Police Chief Vince Genovese said most residents have complied with snow regulations this past winter.

Only one vehicle had to be towed, while another 20 or more vehicles were ticketed because of vehicles parked on snow emergency routes.


The Coplay Garden Club has a floral design workshop on its agenda for March 26, 7 p.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church social hall.

Linda Kortz will present the vertical arrangements to the members. The itinerary includes houseplants, specimens and an artistic tournament titled "On Your Easter Bonnet."


The borough will soon announce when it will resume yard waste pickup on Fridays, as residents are itching to begin cleaning up waste.
