Borough crew preparing pool

The opening of the parkway swimming pool is only a couple of months away.

Borough public works crews are already at the scene with a backloader performing a myriad of tasks.

The laundry list includes cleaning the pool and changing rooms, making pump repairs and chlorine machine adjustments and performing other maintenance.

A bit of good news for pool patrons.

The borough reports there will be no hike in admission rates for the 2015 season.

The pool manager position might again change, however.

The pool's popular deejay parties are expected to return.

It appears street sweeping will take place mid-May.

The borough will use North Catasauqua's street sweeper.

A look ahead to the May 19 primary election: No matter the outcome, there certainly will be two new faces on borough council beginning in 2016.

Councilmen Joseph Groller and Bill Leiner Jr. decided not to seek re-election.
