The Bennett touch: Tony Bennett, above, 18-time Grammy Award-winner whose career spans more than six decades, performs at 8 p.m. May 1, State Theatre Center for the Arts, Easton. 2012 marked the 50th anniversary of the singer's signature song, "I Left My Heart in San Francisco," as well as the release of a documentary film, "The Zen Of Bennett," by his son and manager Danny Bennett. Bennett's fourth book, "Life Is A Gift," released in 2012, was on The New York Times Best Seller list. In 2014, Bennett released a collaborative album with Lady Gaga, "Cheek To Cheek," which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Album charts, making Bennett the oldest music artist, at 88, to have an album top the Billboard 200. The CD received a Grammy in the Best Traditional Pop Album category. Bennett has exhibited his art work in galleries around the world. Three of his paintings are in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Institute, Washington, D.C. Bennett founded Exploring The Arts (ETA) to support arts education in public high schools. He founded the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts, a public high school in his hometown of Astoria, Queens. ETA supports 14 additional New York City public high schools and three public arts high schools in Los Angeles. Bennett's daughter, Antonia Bennett, a graduate of the Berklee College of Music, opens the show.
