Catasauqua: Legion to hold Valentine’s Day dance

Wednesday, February 1, 2017 by The Press in Columns

On Feb. 11, Catasauqua American Legion, 330 Second St., will be holding a Valentine’s Day dance, and the public is invited! Doors will open 6 p.m.

There will be a cash bar, and the price includes light luncheon items served 6:30 p.m.

For more information, call 610-264-1606.

Suburban North YMCA, 880 Walnut St., is pleased to present Snowshoeing and Stone Soup with The Wildlands Conservancy Feb. 12. The event will be held noon-2 p.m.

If Mother Nature provides the snow, YMCA will provide the snowshoes (for adult and children), trekking poles and binoculars. If there is no snow, a hike is planned.

Prior to the adventure, a big pot of stone soup will be started over an open fire. Please bring a vegetable — fresh or canned — to add to the community pot. While the soups are simmering, participants will trek on a trail beginning at the YMCA.

The event is appropriate for ages 6 and up. Wear clothing and sturdy footwear appropriate for the weather.

Contact the YMCA to register for this fun-filled event at 610-264-5221.
