Are you ready to time travel back to the days of greasers, geeks, James Dean, Sandra Dee, Elvis Presley and Rock Hudson, and the sock hop nights with your girlfriend or boyfriend?

If so, the Catasauqua High School Drama Club will be performing “Grease 7 p.m. March 17 and 18 and 2 p.m. March 19 in the high school auditorium.

The musical will take the audience back to a 1959 Rydell High School class reunion filled with music, drama and fun.

The musical, directed by Brenda McGuire, features 27 students. Kerry McGuire is the assistant director.

Students performing in this year’s production include Connor McCully as Danny Zuko; Melody Cruz as Sandy Dumbrowski; Derrick Rodriquez as Kenickie; Jhosebel Polanco as Doody; William Smith as Sonny; Branden Bilheimer as Roger; Dede Creppy as Frenchy; Chloe Andreas as Marty; Britney Fandl as Jan; Gwen Polles as Betty Rizzo; and Sami Jo Henning as Miss Lynch.

McGuire said the students made the decision regarding this year’s musical production selection.

“We had a discussion after last year’s production and the students wanted to do this production this year,” she said. “We thought it would be a great idea if we compromised and allowed them to make some choices and be a part of knowing the costs and what I have to do in order to secure rights for shows.”

Tickets for “Grease” are $10 for adults and $8 for students, children and seniors.

Tickets can be ordered online at http://www.cattysd.org/forms.cfm?myForm=29982. You can also pay with a check made payable to “Catasauqua High School” and a self-addressed stamped envelope to: CHS Box Office, 2500 W. Bullshead Rd, Northampton, Pa. 18067.
