Northampton: Friendly Fifties to meet March 13

St. John’s Friendly Fifties will meet 1 p.m. March 13 in the church’s social hall, 1343 Newport Ave. Parkland High School’s Strolling Strings will perform.

If Northampton schools are closed or delayed due to inclement weather, the meeting is canceled.


Northampton Exchange Club will holds its annual spring craft fair and tricky tray raffle 10 a.m.-3 p.m. March 19 at Northampton Banquet & Event Center, 1601 Laubach Ave. Admission is free.

More than 70 crafters and direct sales vendors will have displays. Lehigh Valley Phantoms merchandise will be given away at the event.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase.


Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4714 will hold a St. Patty’s Day party, featuring the Irish rock band Prugal, 7:30 p.m. March 18, at the Post home, Main Street and Laubach Avenue.

Tommy Zito will perform 7-10 p.m. April 8.

A Cinco de Mayo party, with music by Friends of Tom, is planned for 7:30 p.m. May 6.

The VFW hosts a polka and button box event 7:30-10:30 p.m. every Friday at the Post home.

Also, VFW social hall is now accepting new members for 2017. Membership is open to the public.

Northampton Area Konkrete Kids Educational Foundation will hold an oldies dance April 1 at Northampton Banquet & Event Center, 1601 Laubach Ave.

Doors open 5:45 p.m. A hot buffet will be served 6-7:30 p.m., followed by music 7:30-10:30 p.m. by Desire, an oldies doo-wop group.

A basket raffle and 50-50 drawing also are planned.

Attendees must be 21 or older.

Deadline to purchase tickets is March 24. Tickets will not be sold at the door.
