High school: Got sneakers?
The Catasauqua High School SADD Club is holding a used athletic sneakers, shoes and cleats drive for the month of March. Many youth athletes don’t have the appropriate shoes for the sport that they play. This can sometimes affect their self-esteem and confidence and could even make them the target for being made fun of or bullied. Athletics is often a way for students to handle stress, cope, have fun and stay away from negative influences. Please donate your “Kicks For Kids” during homeroom to benefit Lehigh Valley youth.
Applications are being accepted for summer employment opportunities with the Catasauqua Building and Grounds Department. Application packets are available in the high school guidance office. Employees will work five hours per day, four days a week. Interviews will be conducted during school hours the week of March 27. The deadline to submit your resume and completed application is March 23.
The Catasauqua High School Student Forum is partnering with the Angel 34 foundation to host the 2017 Wacky Olympics at Lehigh Carbon Community College April 19. The Wacky Olympics are a series of minute-to-win-it games (ex: ping pong, foot race) carried out jointly by the Student Forum and Angel 34 to raise funds to aid children afflicted with cancer and their families in the Lehigh Valley.
If you are interested in attending, fill out the Google form in your Gaggle email from Mrs. Fisher or see any Student Forum member for information.
High School students can spend a week at Lehigh University learning about materials science and engineering during their annual Free ASM Materials Camp July 10-14. Students will learn the fundamentals of a variety of materials, taught by graduate students and professors. See Mrs. Roseman. The application deadline is March 24.
