A 33-year-old man has been accused of raping an 11-year-old girl in hotels in Hanover Township, Lehigh County.

According to a Pennsylvania State Police report, Sandro Gustavo Zhinin, of Lorimer Street, Brooklyn, N.Y., has been charged with five felony offenses: the rape of a child, statutory sexual assault, unlawful contract with a minor, corruption of minors and criminal use of a communication facility.

The report said Zhinin and the minor met through the Internet. Zhinin then traveled from New York to Pennsylvania to meet the girl.

On March 4, police said Zhinin picked the girl up at a playground and drove her to a hotel in Hanover Township, where he raped her. He again raped her the following weekend, March 11.

The report said on March 25, state police received information Zhinin was traveling to Pennsylvania to again meet the child at a playground. Police set up a surveillance detail, and Zhinin was apprehended.

At the time of the report, bail had not yet been set.
