Raymond J. Mondschein, 90, of Northampton, died April 13, 2017, in Gracedale Nursing Home, Nazareth. He was the husband of Nancy C. (Cebula) Mondschein for 62 years.

Born in Coplay, he was a son of the late Frank and Mary (Burits) Mondschein.

He was a Villanova University graduate.

He was an U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

He retired from Erie Insurance Company, where he had been a claims adjuster for many years.

He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Coplay.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Tina and her husband Thomas Ernst of Whitehall and Carol and her husband Dr. James Wertz of Bethlehem; a brother, Peter of Coplay; a sister, Rose of Alpharetta, Ga.; four grandchildren, Ryan and his wife Casey Galgon and Andrew, Kathryn and Nicholas Wertz; a great-granddaughter, Gemma Galgon; nieces; and nephews.

He was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.

There will be a calling hour 9:30-10:30 a.m. April 22, followed by a memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m., at St. Peter Catholic Church, 4 S. Fifth St., Coplay.

Contributions may be made to the church’s elevator fund.
