Wednesday, August 9, 2017 by The Press in Columns

Upcoming band performances at the North Catasauqua William J. Albert Memorial Park, 701 Grove St., are:

• The Clap, 7 p.m. Aug. 11

• Caribbean Steel Rhythms, 7-9 p.m. Aug. 18

The We Sing Community Chorus is planning a summer concert at the North Catasauqua William J. Albert Memorial Park. The evening performance will be Aug. 23. The time of the performance will be announced soon.

Refreshments will be served by the chorus and, weather permitting, the evening sky will be lit with Chinese lanterns.

It’s not too soon for vendors, volunteers and car buffs to begin planning for the Best of North Catasauqua Autumnfest and Car Show. The event will be 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Oct. 8 at the North Catasauqua William J. Albert Memorial Park, so mark your calendars now for this fun event, sponsored by the North Catasauqua Betterment Committee.

Crafters, flea marketers and businesses should contact the betterment committee for information about participating and to receive entry forms. Car show entry forms also are available.

The committee is looking for volunteers to help out at the festival as well. Two- to 4-hour shifts are available for helping children with arts and crafts, overseeing the pumpkin decorating table and the bounce house and assisting with vendor check-in and parking.

No experience is necessary. The committee needs more than 40 volunteers. Residents and nonresidents are welcome.

For all of these opportunities, email or call 610-264-1504 for information.
