Charles G. Wechsler
Charles G. Wechsler, 74, of Treichlers, died Sept. 5, 2017, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Health Network Hospice, Cedar Crest Boulevard, Allentown. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Lagler) Wechsler for 53 years.
Born in Albany Township, Berks County, he was a son of the late Charles M. and Ida R. (Correll) Wechsler.
He was in the U.S. Army as a Specialist 4 grade during the Vietnam War.
He was responsible for transportation and distribution of products at Ingersoll-Rand Corporation, Allentown, where he was last employed for 30 years until he retired in 1993.
He was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Whitehall.
He was a volunteer firefighter for 53 years with the Laurys Station Volunteer Fire Company No. 1, where he was a former captain, a former assistant chief and a trustee for 33 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Kimberly A. Wechsler of Treichlers; two brothers, Robert D. Wechsler and Edward and his wife LeAnn Wechsler, all of Walnutport; a sister, Mary Jane Franya of Lehighton; two aunts, Alice and Eva; a sister-in-law, Linda and her husband Carl Youngblood; an aunt-in-law, Sandra and her husband James Heintzelman; nieces; nephews; and cousins.
He was predeceased by a brother, Alan; and a sister, Teresa Fisher.
