Elementary school: Home and School helps students

Wednesday, September 13, 2017 by The Press in School

The first Sheckler Home and School meeting of the new school year was held Sept. 6.

The organization meets once a month. All parents are invited and encouraged to attend.

Sheckler Home and School is a wonderful organization to get involved in. Throughout the school year, this group assists in planning fun events for students and organizes fundraising to benefit the school and the students.

It’s a way for parents to stay involved and help out as much as they would like throughout the year by volunteering some of their time or sharing their ideas.

It’s also a great way to meet other parents and work together to provide memorable experiences for all the students at Sheckler.

There will be an early dismissal for students Sept. 20. Grades 1-4 will be dismissed 1:30 p.m., and kindergarten will be on a modified schedule, with morning students meeting 8:50-10:30 a.m. and afternoon students meeting 11:40 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Don’t forget, Sheckler meet the teacher night for parents will be Sept. 14. Doors open 6 p.m. Lots of important information will be shared with parents this evening to assist them in their children’s classroom experience this year.
