High school: Financial aid night will be held Oct. 16

Catasauqua High School will hold its annual financial aid night 6:30 p.m. Oct. 16 in the auditorium. Michael Burke from the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) will present information on how to navigate school funding.

Students who will be attending college and their parents are invited to attend. If you are planning on attending, print the FAFSA form and bring it along with you. The form can be found at FAFSA.gov.

As part of the ongoing special education parent training series offered by Catasauqua Area School District, a study skills training will be offered Oct. 18 and “Transition — Entitlement Verses Eligibility” training Nov. 15. All trainings are held 6-7:30 p.m. at the district administration office, 201 N. 14th St.

The high school’s Homecoming dance will be held in the high school cafeteria 7-10 p.m. Oct. 21. This dance is for high school students only.

Any senior girl who is interested in participating in the annual Powder Puff football game this year against Northampton’s Konkrete Kids Nov. 5 must sign up and hand in their jersey money to Mr. Gruver in room B125 as soon as possible.

Also, any senior boy who is interested in being a cheerleader for the annual Powder Puff football game against Northampton must sign up with Mr. Gruver in room B215.

This year, Catasauqua will be hosting the game at Alumni Field, and kickoff is set for 6 p.m.

Sign-ups for winter sports are now taking place. If you are interested in playing girls basketball, boys basketball or wrestling, sign up now in the high school athletic office.
