Catasauqua: Area churches to hold Christmas Eve, Day services

Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua, Second and Pine streets, will be holding holiday services as follows: Christmas Eve, Dec. 24 — Sunday school, 9 a.m.; worship services, 10:45 a.m., 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. (candlelight); Christmas Day, Dec. 25 — worship service, 10:45 a.m.


St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Second and Union streets, will be having its Christmas Eve services 4 p.m., 6 p.m. and 11 p.m., with a 10:30 p.m. choir concert.

On Christmas Day, Masses will be 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.


St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 417 Howertown Road, will be having both communion and candlelight services Christmas Eve 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.

On Christmas Day, there will be a 9 a.m. holy communion service.


The Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop will be closed Dec. 25 through Jan. 1, 2018, for the holidays. The shop will reopen Jan. 2, 2018.

A half-price sale on all clothing will take place Jan. 2-6, 2018.

Normal business hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Donations of good, used, clean clothing are gratefully accepted during store operation hours. Proceeds from the thrift shop are returned to the community through contributions that support youth and adult programs and services.
