St. John’s UCC member

Martin “Marty” P. Bright, 58, of Coplay and a guest at Westminster Village, Allentown, died Jan. 3, 2018, in St. Luke’s Hospice House, Lower Saucon Township. He was the husband of Kathleen A. (Deutsch) for 32 years.

Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of Joyce Bishop and the late Paul N. Bright.

He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Fullerton.

He served his country in both the U.S. Navy and Marines.

He was a 1977 graduate of Liberty High School and attended Cedar Crest College.

He was a split place picker in the Rx department of the former Walgreens distribution center. Earlier he worked at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, for 19 years and was selected as a Nursing Tech of the Year in the 1990s.

He was an active member of the American Club of Coplay.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a daughter, Shelby with Joseph Bedics of Coplay; a sister, Lynn and her husband Frank Sipos of Bethlehem; in-laws, Gerald Deutsch with Ethel Lavenburg and Glenda Deutsch; a brother-in-law, David Deutsch and his wife Mimi of Wisconsin; a nephew, Daniel Deutsch; and a godson, Frank J. Sipos Jr. and his wife Anne.
