Taking the stage
“Singin’ in the Rain” is set to storm across the stage as Catasauqua High School goes back to 1927 when silent movies were becoming obsolete and the “talkies” were just beginning to appear on the silver screen.
The plot involves silent film romantic lead Don Lockwood, sidekick Cosmo Brown, leading lady Lina Lamont and aspiring actress Kathy Selden as they attempt their first Hollywood talking picture.
Director Brenda McGuire also handles costume design. She is assisted by Kerry McGuire, choreographer and assistant director; Jessica Englert, assistant choreographer; Robert Arnold, orchestra director; and Deborah Ihling, vocal director.
Show times are 7 p.m. March 9 and 10 and 2 p.m. March 11, with a preview show March 8. The show will be held in the auditorium at Catasauqua High School, 2500 W. Bullshead Road.
