Catasauqua library: CPR training set for April 26 at Public Library of Catasauqua

Wednesday, April 11, 2018 by The Press in Columns

Northampton Regional Emergency Medical Services paramedic Maria Wescoe, RN, will partner with Catasauqua’s emergency management coordinator Joe Carl to present “You Can Save a Life” 6 p.m. April 26. This one-time CPR training session is geared to giving you skills that will enable you to give aid in an emergency situation.

You will have an opportunity to work on a lifelike model to get a sense of what it would be like to give emergency CPR until help arrives.

Award-winning actor, producer, designer, library supporter and avid reader Sarah Jessica Parker is the honorary chair for the American Library Association’s unique “Book Club Central.”

For the club’s readers, Parker is selecting books throughout the year so that she can share her love of reading.

She tells us, “From an early age, books were my constant companions and my local library a place I could find a new friend on every shelf.”

Your library has all four books that she has selected to date: “Stay With Me” by Ayobami Adebayo, “Exit West” by Mohsin Hamid, “Anatomy of a Miracle” by Jonathan Miles and “No One Is Coming to Save Us” by Stephanie Powell Watts. When you read her picks, you are participating in a nationwide network of readers.

Look for her selections among the display of our newest books.
