Joseph “Duff” R. Kornfeind, 90, of North Whitehall Township, died April 1, 2018, in his home. He was the husband of Mary A. (Gray) Kornfeind for 65 years.

Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late Louis and Mary (Walters) Kornfeind.

He worked with his father in the family business, Kornfeind’s Market, Northampton. He and his wife then opened J. Kornfeind’s Market, Egypt, in 1968.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Egypt.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Debra A. and her husband John Koons of Murrells Inlet, S.C., Christine M. and her husband Michael Messer of Center Valley, Joseph F. and his wife Elaine of Allentown and Frank L. and his wife Mica of Kutztown; two sisters, Mary Kelchner of Whitehall and Ann Paluda of Northampton; two brothers, John and his wife Shirley of Florida and Edward and his wife Jennie of Northampton; and two grandsons, Eric M. Messer and Jack S. Kornfeind.

He was predeceased by four siblings, Hermina, Stephen, Frank and Louis; and best friend, PeeWee.
