Coplay: Dinner is set for Saturday
St. John’s Lutheran Church, 18 S. Third St., will have a baked chicken dinner 4-6 p.m. June 9 in the church hall.
The menu includes chicken, lettuce with bacon dressing, baked beans and more.
The Ironton Rail Trail Commission will hold its annual 5K run/walk 8 a.m. June 10, starting at Saylor Park, Second and Keefer streets.
The IRT will again be part of Coplay Community Days in late August.
Coplay Sports Inc. will meet at its Sixth Street field house 8:30 p.m. June 13, following games and league play by its youth.
June 14 is the date Whitehall Area Chamber of Commerce, of which the borough is a member, will hold a mixer at the Coplay Parkway pavilion, Second and Keefer streets. The event, open to the public, is scheduled for 4-7:30 p.m. and will be held rain or shine.
There will be food and beverages.
Proceeds will benefit the Ironton Rail Trail.
Lehigh County Executive Phillips Armstrong will be among a number of individuals biking on the trail to meet and greet those attending.
Coplay Public Library, 49 S. Fifth St., will kick off its summer reading program called “Libraries Rock” 11 a.m.-3 p.m. June 16, with the movie “Oliver & Company” starting 3 p.m. The event is free.
Also, the event called “The String Family” will occur 6-7 p.m. June 20 at the library.
The borough’s Parkway Pool officially opens for the summer June 17, from noon to 7 p.m. this month and noon to 8 p.m. in July.
Season pool passes are available at the borough hall, 98 S. Fourth St. A family season pass for residents is $105 and $180 nonresidents; an adult season pass for residents is $55 and $80 for nonresidents; a student season pass for residents is $40 and $50 for nonresidents; and a daily pass for residents is $5 and $9 for nonresidents.
