North Catasauqua: Carnival continues to June 16
The North Catasauqua small Town USA carnival will continue through June 16 at North Catasauqua William J. Albert Memorial Park, 701 Grove St.
The event will feature live music, carnival rides, games, a raffle and a food court. Discounted carnival rides are offered on Thursday and Saturday.
Volunteers are needed to help with the carnival. Email NCataCentennial@aol.com to sign up.
Performing on the A&A Limousine Bandstand 6:30-9:30 p.m. June 14 is the Large Flowerheads; 7-10 p.m. June 15 is Shake, Rattle & Roll; and 7-10 p.m. June 16 is Flirtin’ with the Mob. Refreshments will be available at the food court, so do not bring outside food and drink to the show.
Catty Seniors Plus meets June 27 at Slovak Center Social Club, 1223 Fifth St. Doors open noon, and the meeting begins 1 p.m.
Inge Mattel of Southeastern Home Care will speak on the importance of hydration. Refreshments will be served, and bingo will be played.
Everyone is asked to bring an item for Catasauqua Community Food Bank.

My personal condolences go out to the friends, family and firefighting family of Erik Hirner. I knew him to be a man dedicated to keeping the community safe as a volunteer in the borough fire department, and I know many are feeling a great loss at his death.
