Louis R. Hacker, 98, of Coplay, died July 24, 2018, at Sacred Heart Assisted Living, Northampton. He was the husband of Emma R. (Stangl) Hacker for 71 years.

Born in North Coplay, he was a son of the late Joseph and Julia (Pfiefer) Hacker.

He was an U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

He was a control room operator for Firestone and Occidental Petroleum, Pottstown, for many years until he retired in 1984.

He was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Coplay.

He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps and both a charter and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4714, Northampton.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Gary and Karl and his wife Carmen, all of Annapolis, Md.; a daughter, Carol and her husband Donald Richter of Severna Park, Md.; three grandchildren, Lauren, Evan and Andrew Louis; and three great-grandchildren, Joseph, Theodore and Stella Rose.

He was predeceased by three brothers and six sisters.
