Catasauqua: Salem UCC to hold Sept. 15 flea market

Wednesday, September 12, 2018 by The Press in Columns

Salem United Church of Christ is hosting a flea market 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 15 at the church, 615 Third St.

There will be a basket raffle, bake sale, pickled red beets and food to either eat in or take out.

If you have any items to donate, call the church at 610-264-4091 or Bev Werner at 610-248-2822.

We cannot accept televisions or electrical items.

The Morning Glories of Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, Fourth and Pine streets, will be having a 10th anniversary celebration luncheon noon Sept. 17.

The luncheon will be supplied by Cathy’s Creative Catering.

A meeting of the group will be held 10:15 a.m. in the church social hall.

In August 2008, six women met to discuss a daytime women’s group at Holy Trinity. A six-month agenda was chosen to see if there was enough interest. The group was incorporated in September 2008 and has grown from 14 women at the first meeting to 27 women at the recent meeting.

Along the way, the group has donated more than $36,420, given goods and supplies worth over $30,000 and performed many service hours.

Members will be embracing some of their accomplishments over the years as well as having a ceremony celebrating the lives of seven women who have died.

The group meets 10 a.m. the third Monday of the month. In December, the meeting is the second Monday.

For more information, call 610-264-2641.
