Coplay Public Library is hosting a book and bake sale 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 12 and 13.

There will also be a basket raffle. Winners will be drawn 4 p.m. Oct. 13.

***

Coplay Recreation & Welfare Association’s annual Halloween parade will be 7 p.m. Oct. 16.

The rain date is Oct. 23.

If all goes according to plan, the parade will begin at Ninth and Chestnut streets and end at the Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St.

One potential problem is the present closure of Chestnut Street between Second and Third streets. Should the major stormwater inlets and piping not be completed, the parade route will have to be adjusted.

Stay tuned.

The deadline for parade registrations is Oct. 10. You can either pick up a form at the borough office or email coplayhalloweenparade@yahoo.com.

Northampton Borough Fire Police will be assisting with traffic control.

While on the topic of Halloween, trick-or-treat night in the borough will be 6-8 p.m. Oct. 26.
