Northampton: Boy Scout Troop 93 to serve spaghetti

Northampton Boy Scout Troop 93 is having a spaghetti dinner 4-7 p.m. Oct. 6 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 19th Street and Lincoln Avenue.

In addition to the pasta meal, salad, drinks and dessert are included.

There is a cost. Children age 6 and under can eat for free.

St. John’s Friendly Fifties group will meet 1 p.m. Oct. 8 in the St. John’s social hall, 1343 Newport Ave.

Emil Schanta will entertain.

Northampton AARP Chapter 3915 will meet Oct. 10 at Northampton Banquet & Event Center, 1601 Laubach Ave. Doors open 11 a.m.

Entertainment will be Bill Frye, a local vocalist. Refreshments will be provided.

Tickets will be on sale for the group’s annual Christmas party during the October and November meetings. Those planning to attend the party must have a ticket.

Women of St. Paul’s UCC will be having a soup tasting 4-7 p.m. Oct. 13 at the church.

Salad, bread, beverages and dessert are included.

There is a cost.

Mark your calendar for these fun Halloween events:

The annual Jack Frost Parade, organized by Northampton Exchange Club, will be held 7 p.m. Oct. 18.

Trick-or-treat night in the borough is planned for 6-8 p.m. Oct. 31.

Halloween Wheels on the Canal will be held 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 27 at Canal Street Park. Rain date is Nov. 3.

The car show is open to all vehicles. Event organizers are seeking independent sales vendors, craft vendors and food vendors to participate.

There is a registration fee. All vendors must be preregistered.

Vehicles can either preregister or register at the event. Registration begins 8 a.m.

Other highlights of the day include a basket raffle, deejay and a toy collection to benefit Toys for Tots.

This is a not-for-profit event with all proceeds going to help veterans. All proceeds will be split between Mission 22 and Blue Star Mothers of America, Lehigh Valley Chapter No. 201.
