YMCA celebrates its volunteers, partners
At its annual meeting Oct. 4 at Blue Grillhouse, Bethlehem, the Greater Valley YMCA celebrated with the partners and volunteers who keep the Y focused on its mission.
The Suburban North branch selected Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church in Catasauqua for the Community Partner Award and Joan Miller for the Volunteer Award.
Holy Trinity shared the Y’s vision that all children deserve access to healthy and nutritious food. With Pastor Brian Riedy as its leader, volunteers from Holy Trinity prepared lunches Monday through Thursday for 11 weeks during summer break. Collaborating with the Y, the volunteers served more than 1,700 lunches.
Miller, this year’s Volunteer Award recipient, continues a family tradition of dedicated service to the Y.
Her father and husband were both actively involved as volunteers.
She is the top volunteer and embraces new challenges. She is focused on improving the well-being of the Y members.
The Suburban North branch is the home of the Russell T. and Joan G. Miller Wellness Center. Their generosity to the Y makes a positive impact on the community.
