Homemade holiday craft sale to benefit local children in need
The late Deborah Nothstein was passionate about helping local children in need. Her husband, William, and daughter, Bethany, chose to continue her work and honor her memory by creating the Mrs. Nothstein’s Helping Hands Fund.
The fund has been in existence for eight years and has provided more than $60,000 to families and children in need. The fund’s big annual fundraiser is a homemade holiday sale.
This year’s event is scheduled for Nov. 8-10 at St. John Fisher Church, 1239 Third St., North Catasauqua. The sale will run 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Nov. 8 and 9 and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 10.
The sale features unique handmade crafts from local vendors including a wide selection of one-of-a-kind holiday gifts and general crafts. This year’s event has 39 crafters.
There will be food at the event as well. Some of the options are pierogies, haluski, turkey bowls, corn chowder, apple dumplings, kiffles and baked goods. Enjoy the food while shopping or take some home for later. A new addition to the sale this year is the ability to pay with a credit card.
A portion of the proceeds from the craft sale, in addition to all of the food sales earnings, will benefit Mrs. Nothstein’s Helping Hands Fund.
