Tocci named to Hanover seat
After due consideration, Hanover Township Council Chairman Bruce Paulus, with the concurrence of council, appointed Richard Tocci to fill the seat of Councilman Curtis Wegfahrt.
Wegfahrt vacated his seat because he was relocated out of the area. The township presented him with a plaque thanking him for his service to the community.
Tocci has been a member of the township planning commission, so he is fami- liar with some of the actions affecting the township.
Tocci is a teacher in Bethlehem. He has been teaching for 20 years. He is married with four children — a daughter, 11, and sons, 9, 6 and 3. His wife was born in Ireland near Wexford.
“We moved into the area in 2005. One of the neighbors in the area recommended the township, and we have been very pleased with the area,” he said.
One reason he felt the urge to fill the seat was his location.
“We are down in the Lloyd Street area near the Allendale Apartments. No one else on council lives out there, so it is good that our residential area gets representation on council,” he said.
He has served on council for a few meetings, but he is not sure he will run when his term is ended.
“I have enjoyed being on council so far, but I want to reserve judgment on running for a full term,” he said.
