Northampton: AARP to meet Jan. 9

Northampton AARP Chapter 3915 will meet Jan. 9 at Northampton Banquet & Event Center, 1601 Laubach Ave. Doors open 11 a.m.

Larry Oberly and Edward Pany, local historians, will speak about the origins of the Borough of Northampton.

Refreshments will be provided.

Those interested in trips are asked to call Sharon at 610-262-9182.

St. John’s Friendly Fifties will meet 1 p.m. Jan. 14 in the church’s social hall, 1434 Newport Ave.

If Northampton schools are delayed or closed due to snow, the meeting will be Jan. 21.
