Thelma “Sue” H. Sturdik, 79, of Walnutport, died Jan. 31, 2019, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Lehighton. She was the wife of the late Laurence Sturdik Sr.

Born in McKeansburg, she was a daughter of the late Alfred S. and Minerva E. (Moyer) Mervine.

She was a 1957 graduate of Blue Mountain High School.

She was a certified nursing assistant at Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem, until she retired in 2009. She owned and operated Sue’s Ceramic Shop, Treichlers. She was an artist known for her paintings and drawings.

She is survived by four children, Laurence Jr. of Palmerton, Robin of Danielsville, Timothy and his wife Melissa of Walnutport and Tammy Carl, with whom she resided; two sisters, Hettie and her husband Jim Neidlinger and Lois Krause, all of Orwigsburg; nine grandchildren, James, Brittany, Alexis, Trevor and Julianne Sturdik, Jessica Moyer, Shawn Carl, Cindy Duke and Thomas Danner Jr.; 14 great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Bonnie.

There will be a calling time 11 a.m.-1 p.m., followed by services 1 p.m., Feb. 8 at the funeral home, 200 Franklin St., Weissport.
