Catasauqua: Catasauqua YMCA lists upcoming events, programs

The Suburban North Family YMCA, 880 Walnut St., has two new exciting events in the month of March.

Rebecca Zukowski-Gillespie, from Blondies Cupcakes, will help children ages 5 and up decorate their favorite cupcakes in a Lucky Cuppies event, scheduled for 7 p.m. March 15.

Family movie night is set for 6-9 p.m. March 29.

The YMCA is also offering a variety of new programs for children this spring.

New preschool programs include basketball, soccer, track and the Read It, Make It, Take It program.

Children ages 6-10 can participate in tennis, track and Tang Soo Do.

An introduction to a yoga class is designed for middle school students in grades 5 through 8.

Introduction classes are free to Y members.

The Catty Club, 226 Pine St., Catasauqua, will be having its next all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet 9 a.m.-noon March 17.

Featured dishes include eggs Benedict, make-your-own omelets, sausage, bacon, scrapple, scrambled eggs, potatoes, crepes, sausage gravy, French toast and beverages.


The Morning Glories of Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604 Fourth St., will meet 10 a.m. March 18.


Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., will be having a bag sale on everything in the store March 18-23.

Normal business hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The store will be closed the week of March 25 for cleaning and changeover. The store will reopen April 1 with all new clothing for spring and summer.
