Rough Rider Tourney finds more success

The 12th Annual Rough Riders Golf Tournament was held back on Saturday, June 1, at Iron Lakes Country Club. There were 96 golfers who participated in this year’s tournament, helping raise over $4,200 for the Catasauqua High School Booster Club.

This year’s champions were: Scott Masenheimer, Ian Masenheimer, Rick Kunkle and Kevin Kunkle with a score of -18.

Runners-up were : Josh Huber, Brian Flexer, Steve Kluemper and Joe O’Donnell with a score of -13.

Closest to the Pin (#10) was Jon Kunkle at 8-4.

Closest to the Pin (#13) was Dan Marley at 6-0.

Closest to the Pin (#18) was Bill Bernecker at 12-8.

Longest Drive (#12) was Joe Galm.

Putting Contest winners were: Mike Krause, Brian Flexer and Steve Kluemper.

“I would like to thank the golfers, hole sponsors and many individuals and businesses who made donations for this year’s tournament,” said Director of Student Activities, Tom Moll. “I would especially like to thank Christmas City Studios for donating Eagles-Lions club level tickets and Mark and Marisa Bartholomew for donating Penn State-Buffalo tickets that were used as raffle prizes.

“I would also like to thank Shannon Hawk, Jen Warren, Shannon Seremula, Eric Snyder, Chris Gerhard, Jared Holenda and Marisa and Mark Bartholomew for volunteering throughout the tournament.

“Like all of the previous eleven tournaments, this year’s tournament was a great success. We are already looking forward to next year’s tournament.”
