Alfred F. Eberhardt
Alfred F. Eberhardt, 93, of Northampton, died Oct. 7, 2019, at Sacred Heart Senior Living, Northampton. He was the husband of Helen (Pardo) Eberhardt for 72 years.
Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Steiner) Eberhardt.
He played football for Northampton High School.
He was in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a prisoner of war, having been captured by the Germans during combat in France.
After returning home from the war, he played semiprofessional football. He owned a luncheonette and the Alliance Hotel. He was an agent for American General for 27 years.
He was a member of Queenship of Mary Church.
He was a life member of Northampton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4714 and Catholic War Veterans Post 454 and a member of the Friendly Fifties. He was a president of Lappawinzo Fish and Game Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Renee and her husband Dr. Louis Morsbach and Dr. Mary Eberhardt and her husband Todd DiGregorio; a grandson, Freddy DiGregorio; nieces; and nephews.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Kathleen; two sisters, Mary Mazur and Theresa Protzco; and two brothers, Joseph “Slim” and Louis.
There will be a calling time 10 a.m.-noon Oct. 12 at the funeral home, 326 E. 21 St., Northampton, 18367. Following will be a Mass of Christian burial 12:30 p.m. Oct. 12 at the church, 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton.
