Post 215 holds Veterans Day dinner, program

Wednesday, November 13, 2019 by PAUL CMIL Special to The Press in Local News

American Legion Post 215, 330 Second St., Catasauqua, held its annual Veterans Day dinner Nov. 9. The dinner is put on by the Post to honor veterans and is open to the public.

The three days in November that are dear to every veteran all line up in a row. Nov. 9 is the fall of the Berlin Wall; Nov. 10, the birthday of the Marine Corps; and Nov. 11, Veterans Day.

In addition to providing the meal, the Post honors veterans who died during the year. This year’s memorial list included Gordon Bender, Stephen Ewaner, George Farley, James Gaffney, Joseph Molchany, Joseph Tognoli, Clarence Weiss and Earl Stralo.

The men were honored by a special ceremony conducted by Post Commander Roger Drayer, adjutant Sherri Bealer and chaplain Dick Fink.

Joe and Dorothy Vassa passed out Happy Veterans Day cards to round out the ceremony.
