Bury the Hatchet dinner is set
The 72nd Bury the Hatchet dinner program for Northampton Area School District and Catasauqua Area School District is set for 6:30 p.m. Nov. 26 at Northampton Banquet & Event Center, 1601 Laubach Ave.
The event, to prepare for the Thanksgiving Day football classic between the two high school teams, will take on the appearance of a roast as speakers talk of the rivalry in good taste but with a comic twist.
Coaches, athletic directors, principals and school district superintendents will gather for dinner while making predictions, sharing stories and renewing the bonds between the neighboring schools, teams and community.
The Konkrete Kids enter the 10 a.m. Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28, football game on its own grounds, Lou Wolf Field at Al Erdosy Stadium. The location for the game rotates annually between the two schools.
Northampton has come up victorious in 59 of the games. Catasauqua came out on top in 33 games. Four games ended in a tie.
Northampton is riding high on a five-game win streak against Catasauqua.
