EMT programs

Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) will hold Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) programs for those likely to respond to pre-hospital emergencies or those considering a medical career. Upon successful completion, the student will be eligible to test for the National Registry EMT (NREMT) credential. Minimum age of 16 is required.

Additional costs include text, NREMT testing fee, specialized equipment and clothing, which may vary depending on location of course.


Da Vinci eyes raising $130 million for Easton science, aquarium center

Officials of the City of Easton and the Da Vinci Science Center have announced that they have signed a one-year Memorandum of Understanding to explore the feasibility of building a science center and aquarium complex in the city’s waterfront area.

The Lehigh Valley Trust Building was a magnificent setting for the launch of a magnificent new project for Civic Theatre of Allentown: “The Next Act: Setting the Stage for the Future,” a $5.5-million Capital Campaign to return “the historic 19th Street Theatre to its original splendor as a landmark arts facility and focal point of Art Deco architecture.”

October LV house sales up marginally

Closed sales of houses in the Lehigh Valley increased ever so slightly in October, continuing a rebound that began in September after two straight months of declining closed sales, according to figures released Nov. 14 by the Greater Lehigh Valley Realtors (GLVR).

Closed sales were up 0.7 percent in October to 687, compared to 682 in October 2015.

For the year-to-date, closed sales have increased 7.3 percent to 6,650 from 6,200 in 2015.
