Butz Corporate Center dedicates Phase 2

With the unveiling of the Butz Corporate Center Phase 2, downtown Allentown's Hamilton Street is looking more and more like a proud main street in a revitalized city well on the way to bouncing back from the tattered look of just a few years ago.

Two new staff members have joined Barry Isett & Associates, an engineering firm headquartered in Allentown.

Katherine Lucy Paretti, EIT, an electrical engineer, is working in the Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing Engineering Department.

The Jewish Federation of the Lehigh Valley has announced the hiring of James J. Mueth as Director of Planned Giving and Endowments.

The Board of Directors of WDIY has announced that its Executive Director, Dr. Bill Dautremont-Smith, will retire by the end of the summer.

The Board is engaged in a national search to fill the position.

As part of a recently solidified joint venture partnership between Alvin H. Butz, Inc., Think Loud Development and United Fiber & Data (UFD), UFD will officially call downtown Allentown "home" to its new regional sales headquarters.

UFD will occupy 10,000 square feet of a new, 10-story mixed-use building at the Butz Corporate Center (BCC Phase 3) with three levels of parking, four levels of office space and three levels of apartments-condominiums on the upper floors.

LV home sales up 3.1 percent

The Lehigh Valley Association of Realtors (LVAR) released data on the April housing market indicating that the local housing market is continuing to recover.

Pending sales were up 39.3 percent to 769 while the number of closed sales increased 3.1 percent to 492 units.

The average sales price was up 2.5 percent to $193,349 with 45 percent of the homes sold priced at $150,000 and below.
