Moving the chains. It’s a pretty well known term in the game of football.
And on Friday night, it seemed to be the Palmerton Blue Bombers’ motto.
That’s because the Bombers (8-3) dominated up front by chewing up yards and the clock throughout the night. Palmerton earned an impressive 19 first downs in the game, en route to a 42-15 victory over Catasauqua in the semifinals of the District 11 2A playoffs. With the win, Palmerton will now go on to play in its second consecutive District 11 2A championship game against Schuylkill League Division 2 champion Schuylkill Haven.

On Wednesday night, in the quarterfinals of the District 11 3A playoffs, the Tamaqua baseball team made things happen.
The Blue Raiders executed exceptionally both on the mound and at the plate, defeating Catasauqua 8-0 to advance to the 3A semifinals.
