Spotlight On: Tegan and Sara making their voices heard

Tegan and Sara are bringing their headlining tour to Bethlehem, inviting fans for some "Let's Make Things Physical" fun.

Canadian twin sisters, LGBT activists, singer-songwriters and indie-pop duo Tegan and Sara Quin perform at 7:45 p.m. June 23, Levitt Pavilion, SteelStacks, 101 Founders Drive, Bethlehem.

Tegan and Sara's seventh studio album and latest release "Heartthrob" (2013) was listed on the Billboard charts, with the single "Closer."

Andrew McMahon's solo 'Underground'

Andrew McMahon has shaped a pop-rock music career with the bands Something Corporate and Jack's Mannequin as vocalist, pianist and primary songwriter.

He's begun a solo career, with the EP, "A Pop Underground," released April 30, and new songs "Synesthesia," "Catching Cold," "Learn to Dance" and "After the Fire."

McMahon performs 8 p.m. July 23, Musikfest Cafe, ArtsQuest Center, SteelStacks, 101 Founder's Way, Bethlehem.

"The Jack's [Mannequin] thing kind of started as a solo project," says McMahon in a recent phone interview.

Marilyn Hazelton taps into creative roots at FloreAnt Projects Gallery workshops

All art forms have a poetry expressed by the artist and the work they create.

With "Sustaining the Soul Through Creative Discovery," Marilyn Hazelton offers inspiration to allow one to tap into his or her creative self by writing poetry.

In a series of four workshops at FloreAnt Projects Gallery, 215 Main St., Emmaus, Hazelton guides participants through a background of poetic Japanese art forms, and as a communal group, participants work together to discover and harness their inspiration.
